Position Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with SEN, enabling them to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning journey. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions to support students with SEN in accessing learning materials and achieving their educational goals.
  2. Collaborating with class teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies for students with SEN.
  3. Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  4. Assisting with the differentiation of lesson plans and adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  5. Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  6. Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, either in a school setting or a similar environment, is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute positively to the school community.
