An SEN school in Manchester is looking for a full-time teaching assistant to work with students in KS3 and KS4 with challenging behaviour. The school is committed to providing high quality support and a nurturing environment for the children they work with, and within this position you will work with other staff to maintain this.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour and SEN based on their individual learning needs and goals
  • Assist the class teacher and other members of support staff to deliver structured lessons
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques in line with Team Teach principles to support students manage emotion and behaviour effectively
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected

For this role you should

  • Have previous experience working with learners with additional needs in an educational setting
  • Team Teach certification or experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy and resilience
  • Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
