As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work within the education and training industry, providing support to students with special educational needs (SEN). This is a temporary position requiring full-time hours. Your primary responsibility will be to assist classroom teachers in implementing individual education plans for students with SEN.

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering tailored educational activities for students with SEN.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Help with the monitoring and assessment of student progress.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and social workers, to support student development.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student development.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN practises and strategies.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Training in specific interventions for students with SEN.
  • Additional qualifications in areas such as Autism Awareness or Behaviour Management.
  • This is a temporary position with full-time hours, expected to work within school hours.
  • You will be based in a classroom setting, working closely with teachers and students.
  • Occasional participation in training and development sessions may be required.
  • Salary: £80 - £90 per day.
