Salary: From £83.85 daily

Job Type: Full-Time / 8:30 – 15:00, Monday – Friday, term-time only

Job Description:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Do you have the skills and dedication to support inclusive education in a mainstream secondary school setting? If so, we invite you to join our team in Burnley as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to modify and adapt classroom activities and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of SEN students.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and inclusive education strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
