A progressive and inclusive school in Bath with a dedicated Autism Resource Base, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant. If you are committed to supporting students with autism and helping them achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with autism within the Autism Resource Base and mainstream classrooms.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Use a range of communication strategies, including visual aids and assistive technology, to support student learning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education coordinators, and other support staff to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students during transitions, breaks, and other activities to ensure their well-being and safety.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in autism support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism or in a special education setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum conditions and effective support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs (SEN) would be an advantage but are not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
