As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning and development. This includes assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons, providing one-to-one support to students, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant experience working with students with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience with Makaton

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable

Prior experience working in a school setting or with children with SEN is required

  • Knowledge of SEN best practises
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Patience and empathy when working with students

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher

You will be working in a school environment, providing support to students with SEN. The role may involve some physical activity and the need to adapt to different learning styles and abilities. You may also be required to attend training sessions and meetings as necessary.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
