Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities that meet the needs of SEN students.
  • Support students with their emotional and social development, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help with the preparation of materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with the school’s SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a professional or voluntary capacity.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions and effective strategies to support students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
