Location: Manchester, UK (Rochdale, Oldham, and North-East Manchester)

Salary: £84 - £100 a day (based on experience)

Contract Type: Flexible

Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in Secondary Schools in the Rochdale, Oldham and North-East Manchester areas. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to support students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Learning: Assist in the educational and social development of students with SEN.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-on-one support to students, adapting learning materials and methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support classroom teachers in managing pupil behavior and organizing learning activities.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student support.
  • Administrative Duties: Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the maintenance of student records.
  • Personal Care: Where necessary, provide personal care and assistance to students.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN in a secondary school setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of SEN and the strategies used to support students with additional needs.
  • Attributes: A positive and proactive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
