Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team for the full academic year starting September 2024. The successful candidate will work full time, providing essential support to children with Autism, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delays. Flexibility to work across all age groups is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in the planning and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each child.

Provide one-on-one support and small group interventions to students with special educational needs (SEN).

Implement behavior management strategies to support students with Autism, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delays.

Support students in developing social skills, independence, and self-confidence.

Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and maintenance of a positive learning environment.

Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, and on excursions, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Participate in professional development and training sessions relevant to SEN support.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, and Global Developmental Delays is essential.

A relevant qualification in Special Education Needs or Child Development is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with SEN.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of different age groups.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Working Hours:

Full time, Monday to Friday.
