We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a team in Saltash. In this role, you will work closely with a student who has an Educational Healthcare Plan (EHCP) to ensure they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment. Your support will be integral to their development, and you will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive experience for the student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with an EHCP, adapting teaching methods to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, onsite experts, and specialists to ensure the student receives the best possible support.
  • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages the student to engage and succeed.
  • Monitor and report on the student’s progress, adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with the student and their family to support their overall development.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people with additional needs. This experience could come from an educational setting, care environment, or a similarly transferable role. We are looking for someone who is:

Registration Process:

If selected for this role, you will be required to complete the Teaching Personnel registration process. This includes:

  • Safeguarding Checks: As part of our commitment to safeguarding, you will need to provide a current Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the DBS Update Service. If you do not have one, we can assist you in obtaining it.
  • References: We require two professional references, including one from your most recent employer.
  • Right to Work: You must provide proof of your right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
