Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time

The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they have access to a meaningful and inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable.
