SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary school - Portsmouth

We require SEN experienced staff as our Primary schools have expressed a growing need for staff who are experienced in working alongside SEN children, whether it be professionally or through personal experience. We need support staff to offer class-wide support or perform a 1:1 role with specific pupils, depending on the school’s requirements. Experience in managing small groups of pupils is preferential also.

Specific experience with Behavioural, Physical & Emotional difficulties is sought after, as many of the schools have SEN pupils across a range of disabilities. This promises to be incredibly rewarding work that would see disadvantaged pupils getting the attention and focus they need toi achieve thier best.

These roles are available on a full-time or part-time basis and we hope to see applicants who are immediately looking to work or are looking to start a role from September 2024

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have SEN experience or be personally familiar with SEN individuals.
  • Be patient & empathetic whilst able to push students to achieve their best.
  • Be an imaginative, problem solver and good communicator.
  • Be ready to make a profound difference in pupil’s education.
  • Be able to lead as well as be a team player.
