Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Primary School in Burgess Hill that are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within reception class. As a Teaching Assistant you will need to help the class teacher manage their behaviour and use your initiative to help best support them. You will need to be resilient and be able to quickly create a rapport with the children.

This will be a very rewarding role for the right person. The role is to start in September on a full time basis.

What the school are looking for in their Learning Support Assistants:

  • Use teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate and adjust specified learning activities to individuals and small and larger groups under supervision
  • Deliver specified work to individuals and small groups modifying and adapting activities as necessary
  • Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment
  • Work with pupils on therapy or other individualised programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional
  • Provide specialist support to pupils with significant learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties
  • Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult or very challenging issues
  • Assisting individual children or groups with activities planned by the teacher. These activities may be part of the Literacy or Maths lessons, or other subjects including practical activities
  • Working with a group or with individuals within National Curriculum subject lessons

There are two positions currently:

Grade 3 £22,737.00 per annum, pro rota, TTO

Grade 6 £25,979.00 per annum, pro rota, TTO
