Job Description:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Assisting teachers in creating and implementing personalized learning plans tailored to each student’s specific needs
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate
  • Using various strategies and interventions to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assisting with classroom management and organization to ensure a smooth and productive learning experience for all students
  • Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN support

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, particularly with a focus on SEN (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a proactive and positive attitude
