The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and willing SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and physical impairments. You will be an essential part of a team that fosters a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver a holistic educational experience.
  • Help with personal care tasks where necessary, ensuring the dignity and well-being of the students.
  • Promote a safe and positive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence.
  • Participate in school events, training, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Some experience or understanding in working as a Teaching Assistant or in a SEN setting.
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and the challenges they present.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
