A flexible, and inclusive school for children and young people aged 7-19 with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism and related social and communication needs, is currently hiring for a number of teaching assistants to support across the key stages.

The responsibilities and contributions of a TA in a SEND school are typically more specialised compared to mainstream settings, focusing on individualised support for students who have additional learning, behavioural, emotional, or physical challenges. Here's an overview of some of the key roles:

-          Managing Challenging Behaviour – you will work closely with students to help them manage their emotions, behaviours, and social interactions.

-          Positive Reinforcement- you willuse techniques such as praise, rewards, or structured routines to encourage good behaviour and create a positive learning environment.

-          Differentiation- adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet students' learning styles and capabilities, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum.

-          Working with Teachers- you will work closely with the classroom teacher to plan lessons and activities that are suitable for each student’s needs. They may also help in assessing student progress and updating education plans.

-          Adhering to Safeguarding Policies- you will play an essential role in safeguarding students, being trained to recognise and report any concerns related to abuse, neglect, or bullying.

This can be a very demanding role so you will need to be resilient and adaptable in order to be successful.

About the role: 

- Monday - Friday

- £12.90 per hour

- 08:30- 4:30
