A highly reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team at their Stockport site. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an enriching and supportive environment, committed to making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering tailored learning plans for students with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Encourage and promote social development and positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure students receive the highest standard of care and education.
  • Help in the preparation of classroom materials and resources, maintaining an organised and engaging learning space.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEN in an educational setting (essential).
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with challenging behaviours and emotional needs.
  • A strong understanding of SEN support strategies and relevant learning tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) (preferred).
  • A positive attitude, proactive nature, and a passion for helping students achieve their potential.
  • Ability to handle personal care responsibilities (if required).
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
