Teaching Personnel is looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a partner school in Barnstaple. This full-time, temp-to-perm position provides a wonderful opportunity to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and make a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer 1:1 and group support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
  • Assist in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help students manage their behaviour, emotions, and social interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Facilitate daily classroom activities to engage students and support their progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential.
  • Patience, flexibility, and empathy when handling challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
