About Us: We work closely with an incredible SEN school in Deepcut who are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The team is committed to fostering individual growth and development, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will support pupils with SLD, who may also have additional sensory impairments, physical difficulties, or challenging behaviour. Your contributions will be vital in helping our students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students during lessons, ensuring their learning needs are met.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to progress reviews.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop effective strategies for learning and behaviour management.
  • Support students during personal care routines as needed.
  • Encourage independence and self-esteem in all pupils through appropriate activities and interactions.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs preferable but not essential (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Experience working with children and young people or adults with SLD or other additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.
