Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them thrive in an educational setting? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Blackpool that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their potential. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who is committed, patient, and has a genuine passion for working with children with SEN.

You will be working on a 1:1 basis or with small groups of children who require extra support with their learning. The position involves working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored learning plans, foster a nurturing environment, and manage challenging behaviour where necessary.

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language difficulties, and more.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and deliver targeted interventions.
  • Support pupils in managing their behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
  • Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teaching team and SENCO.
  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting (school-based experience preferred).
  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach to working with children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative to support pupils’ learning.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
