A primary school in Tottenham is urgently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small class of Year 2 and 3 students, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to make a real difference in a specialised learning environment.

Key Details for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Support a class of 4 students, all with ASC.
• 2 students are non-verbal, so Sign Language experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
• Work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Help manage and develop the student's academic, social, and emotional skills through tailored activities and interventions.
• The role requires confidence, patience, and the ability to handle challenging behaviour, ensuring a nurturing learning space for all pupils.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant:

• ASC (Autism) experience as an SEN Teaching assistant is essential for this role.
• Knowledge of Sign Language is ideal but not required.
• A proactive, bold, and compassionate approach to supporting students with Autism.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, students, and parents.
• A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to process one.
