Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Droylsden. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support due to special educational needs and make a positive impact on their academic and personal development.

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Support: Working 1:1 with pupils or in small groups to assist with their learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Focus: Supporting students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Collaboration: Liaising with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing environment
  • Development: A chance to develop your skills in behaviour management, learning interventions, and differentiated support techniques
  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in an educational setting or as part of your degree (e.g. Psychology, Education)
  • A patient, empathetic approach, with strong communication skills
  • The ability to build rapport with children, helping them feel supported and confident in their learning
  • A genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education
  • Prior experience in a school or childcare setting (desirable but not essential)
  • A friendly and supportive school environment with dedicated SEN resources
  • Guidance from experienced SEN professionals, with opportunities for further training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
