Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Job Type: Temporary - Permanent

Salary: £85 - £95 per day.

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm - Full-Time. 

Contract: Temp-Perm. Successful 2 week trial to be completed. 

 

 

We are looking for a full time Teaching Assistants to support in a SEN Primary and Secondary School based in Hemel Hempstead starting as soon as possible (or after a required notice period). Please see details below

This is a co-educational all-through (3-19) school for pupils with learning difficulties.

 

Job Duties:

  • Supporting class Senior LSA’s and Teachers with the preparation of resources to meet the personalised learning intentions of allocated students.
  • Providing assistance with physical intervention and personal care whilst remaining students dignity. 
  • Providing 1:1 support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.
  • Work closely with the class Teacher to report on progress using an evidence-based approach.
  • To enable students to learn by; understanding their learning goals and targets; enable them to practice and learn new skills and challenge them to be as independent as possible.
  • To be involved in the provision of all aspects of support necessary that will ensure the students wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning.
  • To understand and fully implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.

 

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths

 

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting would be ideal. This role comes with additional responsibilities to that of a Teaching Assistant’s.
  • Experience in care, police, school, social work, children’s clubs are encouraged.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Initiative to take proactive actions.
  • Ability to follow guidance and action feedback from other colleagues.
  • Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
