SEN TUTOR - Daventry.

Have you got experience of supporting children with additional needs?

Do you have the knowledge needed to provide specialized support and guidance on a one-to-one basis outside of mainstream schools?

This SEN role involves working with children and providing educational sessions face to face with children at their homes or a local area (e.g., library) and ensuring to plan resources around the child's needs. This could be likely on developing their learning in Maths and English. This tutor role also requires skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with tasks and managing and implementing a range of behaviour strategies.

All pupils for this role will be based in Daventry the surrounding areas.

To be successful you will need:

  • A relevant teaching qualification ( QTS or at least a minimum of two years teaching experience) .
  • Experience working with SEN/SEMH
  • Able to assess and plan tuition sessions
  • Enthusiastic, engaging and resilient

It is desirable if you:

  • Have experience working with children in a tuition capacity
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs or a willingness to learn

Due to high demand, TP tutors are currently seeking GCSE Maths, English and Science Tutors throughout Northampton and the surrounding areas. Successful applicants MUST be confident tutoring all core subjects Maths, English and Science up to GCSE level, and have the relevant experience in supporting these subjects.

Successful applicants must have experience tutoring either on a 1:1 basis or in small groups and able to recognise where pupils require targeted intervention in these subjects.

Successful applicants will need:

  • QTS or experience working with secondary aged children
  • Experience working with children in a tuition capacity (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to plan and deliver your own engaging lesson, tailored to the student's needs and ability
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • A kind, calm and patient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils while maintain professional boundaries at all times
  • Safeguarding training is essential to the role
