An Ofsted rated GOOD primary school in Swindon, Wiltshire, is seeking a dedicated and qualified SENCo to join their permanent staff list from September 2024. Key Responsibilities:
*Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy
*Coordinating provision for children with special educational needs
*Liaising with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support the needs of SEN pupils
*Ensuring the school’s SEN register is up-to-date and that accurate records are maintained
*Supporting and training staff in identifying and meeting the needs of SEN pupils
*Ensuring all statutory requirements are met in relation to SEN provision
*Leading annual reviews and EHC plan processes
*Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN provision across the school

Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or willingness to complete within 3 years of appointment
*Proven experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting
*Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
*Strong organizational and administrative skills
*Commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring equal opportunities for all pupils

Desirable:
*Experience in a similar SENCo role
*Additional qualifications related to SEN
