  • Coordinate the provision for students with special educational needs within the school
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the learning and development of SEN students
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support for SEN students
  • Conduct assessments and create individual education plans for SEN students
  • Monitor and review the progress of SEN students and make adjustments to support plans as necessary
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SENCO qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role

  • Understanding of SEN Code of Practise and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Training in specific interventions for SEN students

This role involves working within a school environment, collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Some flexibility in working hours may be required to attend meetings and support students outside regular school hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
