An Ofsted-rated GOOD primary school in the heart of Richmond is seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCO to join their dynamic team from January 2025. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school's provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all SEN pupils are met
  • Monitor and review the progress of students with SEN, implementing appropriate interventions where necessary
  • Oversee and contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and support strategies
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with statutory SEND regulations and policies
  • Deliver training and support to staff to enhance SEN provision across the school

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete within three years)
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external partners to drive positive outcomes for pupils

Desirable Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or SENCO role
  • Experience working with external support agencies and multidisciplinary teams
  • A passion for inclusion and a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their potential
