Smile Education have received the position of a SEND Teaching Assistant and are working on behalf of a Primary School located within the South Birmingham area. Applicants should be available to start from November 2021.

The role will involve the candidate providing support for Early Years pupils acrossY1/Y2 in either a group manner, or on a 1:1 basis. Candidates must have 3-6 months of experience working with children with SEND or a role like this and have a good understanding of the teaching measures in place to aid these pupils (e.g., phonics and intervention measures).

The position holds many exciting opportunities and experiences for the successful candidate; the school also places an additional focus on ensuring its staff are content and providing a positive learning environment. This setting is based in the proximity of Headley Heath, Hall Green and Shirley.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Hold a relevant UK teaching qualification with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum
  • Able and willing to travel to the Birmingham area
  • Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils achieve the very best
