About the Role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Our friendly and supportive primary school in Dudley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a Year 3 pupil.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of the pupil. You will work closely with the class teacher, parents, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 3 pupil with SEND on a 1:1 basis.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials as required.
  • Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
  • Foster positive relationships with the pupil to enhance their confidence and motivation.
  • Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and report to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to ensure a holistic approach to the pupil’s education and wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, are desirable.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to the welfare of children.
