The Role:
Teaching Personnel is delighted to support one of our partner secondary schools in recruiting an experienced and qualified SENDCo to cover an upcoming maternity leave. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of SEND provision within the school, providing leadership and management for the Inclusion Faculty, and ensuring all students have access to a curriculum tailored to their needs. This is an ideal opportunity for a dedicated SENDCo looking to make a meaningful impact and gain whole-school leadership experience in SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Inclusion Faculty, ensuring high-quality SEND teaching, support, and assessment.
  • Oversee the school’s SEND provision, implementing best practices and ensuring resources are used effectively to support student progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure the curriculum is inclusive, meeting the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of SEND strategies, adjusting support as necessary to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to drive the development of whole-school SEND policies and practices, fostering a culture of inclusivity.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to ensure best practice in SEND teaching and differentiation.

The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will be a passionate and experienced SENDCo who is committed to inclusive education and supporting the needs of all students. We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Qualified SENDCo status with experience in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage and support a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, teaching, and assessment practices.
  • A proactive approach to managing SEND provision, with the ability to drive and sustain positive change.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the school community.
