Teaching Assistant (Salford and Bolton) – Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs (SEND)

This role focuses on providing essential support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role:

  • Location: Various roles available in schools across Salford and Bolton
  • Salary: Starting from £84 per day (paid via PAYE, with no agency fees)
  • Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm); part-time options available
  • Start Date: Immediate start following registration
  • Duration: Long-term, with opportunities to move into permanent roles

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 and Group Support: Offer personalised care and support to students with varying SEND needs, including ASD, PMLD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Learning Assistance: Facilitate engagement with the curriculum in both one-on-one and classroom settings, ensuring students receive tailored learning support.
  • Promote Independence: Help students develop essential communication, social, and life skills, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with teachers, Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), and support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Inclusive Environment: Support the creation of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where students with SEND can thrive emotionally and academically.
