Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through outdoor activities and sports?

Teaching Personnel is seeking an energetic and dedicated Sport/Activity SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant team in Exeter. This full-time role is ideal for someone who loves working outdoors and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of children with SEN. Unlike traditional roles, this position involves no classroom work and focuses entirely on outdoor-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEN in outdoor activities, including sports, adventure games, and physical education.
  • Plan, lead, and supervise a variety of outdoor sessions tailored to the needs and abilities of each student.
  • Encourage physical activity, teamwork, and social skills development in a natural, engaging environment.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, therapists, and other support staff to ensure each child’s physical and emotional well-being.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them achieve their personal and developmental goals.
  • Ensure safety at all times during outdoor activities, following the school's policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a SEN setting or with a background in sports, physical education, or outdoor activities.
  • A passion for outdoor learning and the ability to engage students in a non-traditional educational setting.
