Position: Sports Coach
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
School Type: Secondary SEMH School (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

Are you passionate about inspiring young people through sport? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Sports Coach to join our team at a specialist secondary SEMH school in Chorley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging sports sessions tailored to the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students to develop their physical and mental well-being.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience through physical education.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to encourage participation and positive behaviour in and out of the sports setting.
  • Support students in building confidence and self-esteem through sport and physical activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people in a coaching or teaching role, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of the positive impact of sport on mental health and emotional development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and encourage students.
  • Ability to adapt coaching techniques to meet individual student needs.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications (Level 2 or higher) in one or more sports.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
