Are you passionate about sports and making a difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our team at a secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Skelmersdale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging sports and physical education sessions tailored to students with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participation and skill development.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to integrate sports activities into students' individualized learning plans.
  • Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students, helping to improve their confidence, teamwork, and emotional resilience.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and the importance of physical activity in overall well-being.
  • Manage and maintain sports equipment and ensure a safe environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sports coaching, ideally within an educational or SEMH setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 in coaching or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • A commitment to inclusivity, promoting positive behavior, and helping students reach their full potential.
