Sports Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Teaching Assistant to join our client Secondary School in September.

The successful candidate will support the Physical Education department in delivering high-quality sports education and extracurricular activities. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sports and education who wish to inspire young people through physical activity.

The school is situated in the heart of Urmston and boasts a large onsite car park for members of staff using a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the Delivery of PE Lessons: Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging physical education lessons across various sports disciplines.
  • Promote Student Participation: Encourage all students to participate actively in sports activities, regardless of their skill level.
  • Provide Individual Support: Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of sports.
  • Organise Extracurricular Activities: Help coordinate after-school clubs, teams, and competitions to enhance student engagement in sports.
  • Maintain Equipment and Facilities: Ensure that all sports equipment is safe, well-maintained, and readily available for use during lessons and activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A passion for sports and physical education.
  • Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Relevant qualifications in sports coaching or teaching assistance are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
