Teaching personnel are working in partnership with a Secondary School in Swansea to recruit a STF Teaching Assistant. Working with KS3 and KS4 pupils. The position will be a full time position starting in the new academic year (September 2024).

The role of a STF Teaching Assistant:

  • Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with additional learning needs (ALN), ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of pupils.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teacher on pupils’ progress.
  • Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtime.
