Position: Stonemason Lecturer

Location: Northampton

Are you a skilled and experienced stonemason with a passion for teaching? Do you have the expertise to inspire and educate the next generation of stonemasons? If so, we want you to join our team as a Stonemasonry Lecturer!

Teaching Personnel have teamed up with an excellent College in the heart of Northampton who have been awarded a ‘Good’ college by Ofsted to recruit a Stonemasonry Lecturer to join their team as of September 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Instruction: Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on all aspects of stonemasonry, including carving, restoration, and construction.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update course materials and syllabi to ensure they meet industry standards and reflect current practices.
  • Student Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to students, fostering their growth and development in the craft of stonemasonry.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Assess student progress through practical assignments, exams, and projects, offering constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Industry Engagement: Maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations to stay abreast of trends and opportunities for student placements and collaborations.

Requirements

  • Stonemasonry Expertise: Extensive experience in stonemasonry with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in carving, restoration, and construction.
  • Educational Background: Relevant qualifications in stonemasonry or a related field. Teaching credentials or certifications are a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex techniques and concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching, training, or mentoring in a vocational or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Passion for Craftsmanship: A genuine passion for stonemasonry and a commitment to preserving and advancing the craft.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
