An exciting opportunity has cropped up for a committed and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant at a Primary School in Sunderland. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in Key Stage 1 (KS1).

  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
  • Work one-on-one or with small groups of children to enhance learning and support those who may require additional help.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Observe and assess students’ progress, feeding back to teachers and parents as required.
  • Support children with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure all pupils can access learning in an inclusive environment.
  • Help promote positive behavior and social interaction in line with the school’s values.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in KS1 or a similar setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
