We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school near Swindon. This role is hosted by Teaching Personnel and we are looking for someone with childcare experience to help fulfil this meaningful role. This opportunity offers diverse experiences as no two days are the same. The successful candidate will support the educational and social development of the pupils, working closely with the class teacher to create a positive learning environment.

  1. Classroom Support:

    • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation.
    • Help manage classroom activities and maintain an orderly environment.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils to enhance their learning.
  2. Student Development:

    • Support the social and emotional development of students.
    • Encourage positive behaviour and independence in the classroom.
    • Assist with assessing and monitoring student progress and achievements.
  3. Administrative Tasks:

    • Help prepare teaching materials and resources.
    • Participate in school meetings and training sessions as required.
    • Assist with record-keeping and reporting on student progress.
  4. Inclusive Support:

    • Work with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.
    • Collaborate with the SEN coordinator and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting.
  • A current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
