The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with pupils diagnosed with ADHD, helping them navigate the school environment, manage their behaviours, and achieve their academic goals. Your support will be crucial in enhancing their educational experience and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with ADHD.
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Support teachers in adapting classroom activities to meet the needs of pupils with ADHD.
  • Help pupils develop effective organisational and study skills.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage and motivate pupils, building their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of ADHD and strategies to support pupils with this condition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
