About Us: We are a leading specialist provision in Bolton, dedicated to providing exceptional education and care for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). 

The Role: We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team from September 2024. In this full-time role, you will work closely with students who have complex needs, particularly those with Autism and PMLD. Your role will involve supporting the delivery of tailored educational programs, using alternative communication methods such as PECS cards, and engaging students through activity-based lessons that are designed to meet their individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of activity-based lessons that are sensory-rich and tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other personalised learning strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with personal care needs, where necessary, in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to staff and parents.
  • Foster a positive, supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and empowered to learn.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs is desirable.
  • A passion for supporting children with complex needs and a commitment to helping them achieve their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting and supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to working with students who have diverse and complex needs.
