Teaching Assistant

Position: Learning Resource Base TA

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.15-3:30

Daily Rate: £81- £83

Start Date: ASAP (Pending vetting)

Location: Primary Schools across Barry

Teaching personnel are currently in search of passionate, dedicated and personable individuals to work within Learning Resource Bases across the Barry area. We work with schools across The Vale to support their staffing needs and supply strong individuals to make a difference to the schools every day.

The role:

Working within an LRB will require a lot of resilience and the individual will need to have a confidence and a nurturing approach. You will be supporting and facilitating the learning of pupils who have social, emotional and mental health related needs. You may be presented with some challenging behaviour and will need to be able to effectively handle situations in a calm manner. For this role you will need to be creative, thinking of unique ways to engage children in learning.

Essential Criteria:

-          Child Only Enhanced DBS (Registered with the update service)

-          Registration with the Education Workforce Council

-          References covering 24 months

-          A minimum of three months experience supporting children

-          An understanding of how to support children with additional learning needs
