Position: Teacher in construction

Location: Northampton

Are you an experienced professional in the field of construction specialising in Plumbing, Brick laying, Carpentry, Electrical or Painting and Decorating with a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer in Construction to join our clients esteemed faculty educating further education students from September 2024 on a part time basis.

The College who are based centrally in NN3 are located on a large campus with excellent facilities for teaching and learning. The Construction Management is designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience necessary to excel in the construction industry. The college have excellent facilities including a construction centre specifically built for the course in 2019 to provide extensive, and thorough teaching and learning for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and workshops on construction topics including Plumbing, Brick laying, Carpentry, Electrical or Painting and Decorating
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and standards.
  • Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and practical projects.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication in relevant fields.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience in construction management.
  • Proven teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment to staying current with industry developments and integrating them into the curriculum.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
