About the Role:
In this role, you will be teaching English across Key Stage 3 and 4, engaging students with a diverse range of abilities. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that promote a love for literature and language, while also ensuring students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective English lessons that inspire students and help them develop personally and academically, in line with the school’s aims and policies.
  • Curriculum Delivery: Implement a broad, balanced, and challenging English curriculum accessible to all students.
  • Extra-Curricular Involvement: Participate in and contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities, enhancing the overall educational experience for students.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students, acting as both an English teacher and a form tutor.
  • Raising Standards: Play a key role in raising student attainment and ensuring value is added in the context of the school’s goals.
  • Professional Development: Engage in opportunities for personal and professional growth offered by the school.
  • Professional Duties: Carry out duties as outlined in the Conditions of Service.

Who Should Apply?

  • Qualified Teachers with QTS or equivalent.
  • ECTs qualifying this year are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Unqualified teachers with a passion for English and a commitment to education are also welcome.
  • Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the English curriculum are essential.
  • A Safer Recruitment in Education check will be required.
