An established secondary school in Essex, rated GOOD by Ofsted, is seeking a passionate and qualified Food Technology Teacher to join their dedicated team on a permanent basis starting from January 2025. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic educator with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that inspires students to explore and excel in food technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food Technology to Key Stages 3 and 4 students, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Prepare and plan lessons that encourage practical skills and creativity, ensuring safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
  • Contribute to the development of the food technology curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Promote and uphold the values and ethos of the school, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Food Technology or a related subject.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate is mandatory.
  • UK experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level, ideally with a proven track record of success at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for teaching.
