Teaching Personnel’s Permanent Workforce Resource (PWR) team is are working in close partnership with a secondary school in Reading (RG4), with a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted. We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced MFL Teacher specialising in French to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary commensurate with the role’s responsibilities and importance.

Role Overview:

As an MFL Teacher (French), you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality French language education to students, fostering a love for languages, and promoting excellent standards of teaching and learning. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Planning and delivering engaging and effective French lessons to students of varying abilities, ensuring that all students make excellent progress.
  • Curriculum Development: Contributing to the development and implementation of a rich and diverse French curriculum that caters to the needs of all learners.
  • Assessment: Regularly assessing students’ work, providing constructive feedback, and using data to inform teaching practices and support student progress.
  • Classroom Management: Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Professional Development: Participating in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
  • Collaboration: Working collaboratively with colleagues within the MFL department and across the school to share resources, strategies, and best practices.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for delivering outstanding teaching in the MFL department.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching French at the secondary school level, with a track record of raising student achievement.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the French language and culture, as well as familiarity with the MFL curriculum and current educational methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Commitment: A commitment to the school’s ethos and values, and a passion for promoting excellence in language education.
