Job Description: Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join the Pupil Referral Unit in Torquay. The successful educator will be responsible for delivering engaging and tailored lessons to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons that meet the diverse needs of students in the PRU.
  • Develop individualised learning plans and monitor student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the PRU.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable, but not essential 
  • PE teacher is desirable
  • Experience working with students in a PRU or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
