**Job Summary**

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Cardiff are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with a Year 3 pupil with autism, providing one-to-one support in the mornings, and assist with interventions for Key Stage 2 (Y4-6) pupils in the afternoons.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Work one-to-one with a Year 3 pupil with autism, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs and help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring that the pupil's needs are met and they are fully engaged in the learning process.
  • Support Key Stage 2 pupils with interventions, such as reading, writing, and maths, to help them catch up or extend their learning.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans, working closely with the pupil's parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress, tracking their achievements and areas for development.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos of the school, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

**Requirements**

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Experience working with pupils with autism is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities in a busy school environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
