We are seeking compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistants to provide day-to-day supply and cover in a special educational needs (SEN) school. This role offers the perfect opportunity for those seeking flexible working hours, allowing you to choose when and where you work.

As an Agency Teaching Assistant, you will support students with autism and complex learning difficulties, helping them with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, and academic tasks. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive in their educational environment.

  • Student Support: Assist students with autism and complex learning difficulties, helping them engage with classroom activities and develop essential life skills.
  • Personal Care: Provide compassionate support with personal care tasks, ensuring the dignity and comfort of each student.
  • Academic Assistance: Work alongside teachers to support students in their academic work, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support students in developing independence by assisting with tasks such as feeding, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Choose shifts that fit around your existing commitments, whether you're looking for part-time work, occasional shifts, or something in between.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential. A passion for helping others is key.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Empathy: A caring and understanding approach to supporting students with diverse needs, including those requiring personal care.
