Details of the role:

  • Full-time during term-time, Monday to Friday 08:15am-15:30pm.
  • Working within a special needs resource base in a thriving secondary school in Cardiff.
  • Closely assisting a pupil to enhance their wellbeing, offer personal care and support with their school work.
  • In a close knit team, strive to make a positive impact within the base.
  • Offer skills and guidance to enhance life skills for the pupils to utilise outside of the school environment.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience with complex needs (personal or professional).
  • Able and willing to do toileting, personal care and tube feeding (training can be provided).
  • Caring, understanding and patient and able to effectively communicate with different ages and abilities within a secondary setting 11-16 years of age.
  • An ability to act on own initiative and be pro-active within the base.
  • Passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and wanting to make a positive difference on their livelihood and school work.
